Special thanks to all of those that made it out to the Safe House last night. Bounty Hunter (who wondered how I came up with his name), Fortinbras, Disassemble Silently, Buccaneer, Mazzalynn, and the lovely and talented L joined me for drinks and a short bit of karaoke. A special Guest Appearance by two Stars of Milwaukee's Stage was also a pleasant surprise. I hope Fortinbras got their contact info, as they both have come perilously close to joining the ranks of The Nerd in the past. Tiger Beat is from Gold Piece's gene pool and Calvin Klone was part of my very successful 7th Sea game in college. I also recieved calls from Saucy Babylon and New Nerd J. I look forward to the awesome presents from those that didn't attend...or at least some free booze. (Don't worry,
antigonewest, you are excused due to your rehearsals. But where was Shiggs?)
Rocket Boots is also safely back in the states. He'll be back in time for
antigonewest's stage return, Though he gets into town on Tuesday. I may have to shuffle around l5r a bit, especially once I discover what happened with Shower Hero's run in with The Man. I think I'll call around tonight/tomorrow and see hw people feel about skipping next week and running a two in a row.
L was also lovely and talented enough to get me two items off the birthday list posted earlier. She is a keeper, she is. The fam laid out cash, which is fine, but she got me M&M 2e, King Kong DVD, AND made me a customizable GM screen out of cardboard, glue, and sheet protectors from Office Max. I think I may have to change her name officially to Le Guyver, as she is crafty in so many ways.
Tonight is Castle Falkenstein, which is both full and looking like fun. I'm setting up Spycraft and one other game for may, and may or may not throw out two more pilots in june. I'm already getting a sense of what people liked and what they didn't. I think I'm running Spycraft at the New Nerds Pad, though that's all tentative. If I had to pick today, I'd choose Unknown Armies as the other pilot. I may take August off from GMing as both Gen Con and
notoriousbrb New Edition loom that month. Hopefully, Rocket Boots will get back into the nerd, and bring Tarantula in with him.
Now, shock upon horror, this nerd is going to lay about outside. I fear not the Daystar!
EDIT: Just so I can link to the majority of my LJRL friends,
wordsnerd tells me that DeacDogg took the Big Damn Test. This is the first step toward his ultimate dream job of palling around on a Russian submarine with Sean Connery, so everyone throw in a word with your Favorite Deity for him. And keep me posted on how he scored.
