‘It’s raining today. A cold drizzle. You want to know the last time it did that here in Plano? Six months ago. Six long months ago. The day you left.
‘I’m not going to lie, Andrew. I miss you. I miss you every day. I miss your eyes, I miss your hands. I miss your kiss. I miss holding you, the sand in my hair. I miss that god-awful truck and having you in it and I miss the wind. I miss your face and you voice. I miss you, Andrew Wilson. Please come back. Please. I… I love you. I really do. Please come back.’
There was no name, but Andrew knew who it was from. He missed him too, but he wasn’t quite ready to go back. He wasn’t quite ready to forgive.
With a sigh, Andrew folded the letter up and put it away in his desk drawer. His hand rested for a moment on his pen- should he write back? Then Susan walked into the room, and he quickly withdrew his hand from the drawer, shutting it with a bang.
