Super Houdini

Nickala has mastered the art of breaking through any barrier I put in her way. We had a gate and she didn't work out how to undo it up the top but could instead unscrew the bottom which made it fall over and gave her access to the forbidden land.
We have a chair now blocking off the entrance to the kitchen and only because she goes straight into the laundry and into the bathroom. There’s that frigging fascination with the bathroom. Taya had it too! Anyway, she now climbs through the legs and wriggles on in there. I put her little bike into the legs this morning and she dragged it out and climbed through. What a bugger!

We also have a chair on its side at the bottom of the stairs as she climbs them at the speed of light. We have had to put a beanbag behind the chair as she just goes to the side of the stairs and climbs over onto them. Yesterday she watched me push the beanbag to the side so I could get through and when I was coming back downstairs, she was on her way up. She'd pulled the beanbag out and pulled the chair away and up she came!

I've laid a blanket over both barriers now. We'll see if she works that one out.

On one hand this is really pissing me off! Why won't she just bloody stay in the allocated area? Is that too much to ask a kid or what?? Perhaps it is, Taya got through a few gates and one time ended up putting my hairdryer in the toilet.
On the other hand I'm kind of impressed. She's a bit of a clever little cookie, isn't she?
