Le Cryptogramme rouge

I never update. Sorry for that. The first thing I notice is, in searching for Les Vampires through Google, one of the preliminary findings is the French version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, listed as "Buffy Contre Les Vampires"; which reminds me of "Juve Contre Fantomas", another feuillade masterpiece which is extremely unavailable for any non-french speaking, non-Amazon.fr registered consumer of silent cinema. Meanwhile, i find the equilibrium of multilingual irony, in that whilst searching for Les Vampires (which happens, significantly, to be Edward Gorey's FAVORITE film ever) I find Buffy the Vampire Slayer.(which happened, significantly, to be Edward Gorey's FAVORITE TV show) I first found it odd that a Highly Educated and Complete Brilliant-face would have such a fond interest in Sarah Michelle Guellars sarcastic, angsty, WB romp. anyway, here I sit, dwindling my last remaining southern California summer hours, researching connections between silent films, late nineties prime time, and a cryptic cartoonist. While watching Walt Disneys "Spirit of '43", I happened upon a splendid realization: Beethovens Fifth Symphony has probably the most well known mantra of Classical Music; "Duh Duh Duh Dunnnnn". Five is V in roman numerals. V in morse code is expressed as: dot dot dot dash. a coincidence of epic proportions. I would post more, but i dont' know how to materialize pictures online (note: i used to, but that area of my intellect has long since atrophied)
