"Damn it."

Jongin cursed under his breath as someone barreled into him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" the person who collided with him said rapidly, picking himself up from Jongin's back. "Here, let me help you up---"

Jongin turned, set on giving the man a tongue lashing, when he's met by a delicate looking face, framed by wavy blond hair.

Oh. Jongin thought; mind stuck on the man's generally pleasant appearance.
Oh.

Noble. He thought, lowering his gaze to the man's embellished clothing.

The man looked contrite, looking helplessly as Jongin tried, futilely, to sweep away the dirt stuck on his clothing as a result of their collision.

"I'm really sorry." the man said again. "I ruined your clothing, please let me make up for it---"

"No, it's okay--"

"No, I must insist." the man said, suddenly breaking into a smile. "It's the least I can do to help you out."

The man turned, told Jongin to come with him, and as soon as Jongin fell into step at his side, he tilted his head up at him and said, "I'm Lu Han, by the way. I'm---"

"A noble." Jongin finished and Lu Han laughed.

"Not what I was going for, but yes, I am. Did the clothing give it away?"

Jongin shrugged, and Lu Han laughed again, laughter light and airy.

Jongin decided that he quite liked Lu Han's laugh. Surreptitiously, he looked at him, dragging his gaze down from the shiny golden hair to the dark, sooty eyelashes framing his eyes, to the bridge of his nose, and finally, to his companion's lips.

All Jongin could think about was Lu Han was the most beautiful man he had ever seen.

Lu Han looked at him, saying something, and Jongin had to literally drag his eyes away.

"---that you have to be somewhere, right? So I'll have to take you to my favorite shop down the road, so you won't be too far from the police station."

"How did you come up with that?" Jongin asked, pursing his lips, and LuHan shrugged.

"That's the only place worth of interest down Scotland Yard...as of the moment, anyway. A lot of people have been going to and fro from there so it's safe to assume that you have business there as well." LuHan smiled amicably, quirking his lips.

"Indeed." Jongin said, looking straight ahead and trying to decipher where Lu Han was bringing him.

"We are nearly there." Lu Han offered, walking for a few more moments before grabbing Jongin by the elbow and turning him to a rather small store, hidden between two large establishments.

Jongin almost missed the little shop.

"The owner of this shop is my favorite tailor. Hopefully he'll have something for you." Lu Han said cheerfully, pushing the door open.

Jongin listened to the chiming of the little bells situated on top of the door as he steps into the threshold, and there's sudden quiet as the door closes, blocking off the sounds outside.

"Mr. Taffle!" Lu Han called, and when no reply was forthcoming, he sat on a wooden stool, drumming his fingers patiently on the table in front of him.

It's a few minutes later when an older man entered the room. He bowed. “My Lord.”
Lu Han frowned. “You know I have little care when you bestow that title upon my person, my good friend.”
"Your face makes the most interesting expressions, my Lord. I cannot help the temptation, forgive me.”
Quite suddenly, the old man smiled broadly, grabbing Lu Han in a tight hug.  “Lu Han! How good to see you."

Lu Han laughed, patting the man's back as he extracted himself from the man's grip. "I am very happy to see you as well, Mr.Taffle. It has been quite a long time."

The man fixed his steady gaze to Jongin, who fought the urge to stare at a mirror, lest something was wrong on his face.

"And who might this young man be, Lu Han?"

"I have done this young man a wrongdoing, Mr. Taffle." Lu Han said, stiffling a laugh as Mr. Taffle dragged Jongin into the light.

"And what is it that you did?"

"I knocked into him on the streets. An accident, I am not proud to admit.  You remember that I have two left feet."

"Yes, yes, terrible clumsiness, I'm afraid. Surely you must forgive Lu Han, young man; he only has the best intentions." Mr. Taffle said pointedly, looking at Lu Han, who blushed.

"Kim Jongin." Jongin said.

Mr. Taffle tilted his head. "What?"

"My name is Jongin." he repeated, meeting Lu Han's eyes. Lu Han reddened further.

"Ah. So that is your intention, Lu Han. How devious of you." Mr. Taffle said, smiling at Jongin, as if filling him in with a secret. He moved away before Jongin could ask what just flew over his head.

He tilted his head confusedly, waiting as Mr. Taffle placed coats on his arms.

Lu Han helpfully explained, face bright red. "He is of the opinion that I bumped into you on purpose."

"And on what basis?"

"His interest on you, of course!" Mr. Taffle exclaimed, placing two more coats on Jongin's arms before shooing him away into the changing room.

Jongin laughed, looking at Lu Han for a response. "Surely you are jesting?"

When the man didn’t respond, tight lipped, Jongin smiled. "It is not something to shy about; I am not like most people. You are safe with me.”

Lu Han breathed an almost inaudible sigh of relief, smiling slightly at Jongin, and Jongin felt his smile stretch wider.

When he came back, dressed in his coat of choice, Lu Han nodded in satisfaction, handing Mr. Taffle a pouch of coins.

"Always exemplary work, Mr. Taffle."

"Did you expect anything less?" the man retorted, waving them away. "Now go do your business, lordling. And Mr. Kim! You are most welcome to return!"

Jongin lifted his hand in goodbye before turning to Lu Han, who was watching him intensely.

"What?" Jongin asked self-consciously.

Lu Han smiled. "Nothing. You look good, that is all."

Jongin felt the tips of his ears grow warm. Flustered, he looked away, willing the blood from his cheeks to recede.

"Now, I am sorry I have business to attend to." Lu Han said. "I really must go. But--- I want to see you again, Mr. Kim I hope I could."

Lu Han arranged the fold of Jongin's coat properly, pressing his palm to Jongin's chest, and even through many layers Jongin could feel the heat of his touch seeping through clothing.

"I am very much pleased to make your acquaintance, Mr. Kim." Lu Han whispered, eyes unreadable, and in that moment Jongin seriously wished for soon to materialize. He held his breath.

And Lu Han stepped back, creating space between them, and Jongin found that he could breathe again.
“I am of the same opinion, my Lord.” Jongin bowed slightly. “Thank you for your assistance.”

“It is of no moment. It was my greatest pleasure to assist you as I have inconvenienced you so.”  Lu Han said, quirking his lip slightly. “See you soon, Mr. Kim.”

"Till then, take care… Jongin." Lu Han smiled, voice drifting into a whisper, and the wisp of his name from Lu Han’s tongue curled low in his belly.

Jongin shivered, and he watched as Lu Han briskly walked away.
