Testing Out Futures
Long time no update. To be fair, there has been no excuse as to why as much of what comes to mind these days is relegated to the FB and Twitter feeds. But upon further thought, perhaps it is still a valid idea to go ahead and allow my brain to freely spill around places such as these. Certainly couldn't hurt. Particularly right now as I feel nearest the end of a great transitional period. Six months later, and it has become more than clear that the job I've been toiling over is little more than a flat-tire fix. Thankfully, the worst stress seems well past at this point despite what several bad machines would like to say otherwise. There is little else to prove to others, let alone myself there as many of the initial promises laden out during my trainee process have turned out to be empty promises. The section I was hoping to move up into has recently been scuttled, and I have moved up into a rare scan position that requires a little added attention, yet slower machinery. And while it's nice to be appreciated, it is clear that there is really little else left to be learned there. Any more of this, and it's no different than any service job I held for years before. And yes, I also must admit to being grateful that I'm working at all, but knowing my nature, this can only keep me at optimal for so long before my body begins to relent.
So a hunt continues. Thankfully, since last time, tools have been gathered, and dialogue has happened here and there. And while no plan is still forthcoming, it still feels very much like everything is going to change background-wise very soon. Ready or not, life is here, and there's no placing the creature back in the pen once it's out.
Been silent on the podcast front, but new projects are on the table, and near ready to begin...
Did an unexpectedly long writeup on the Paranormal Activity franchise today. Despite it's seemingly gimmick-driven concept. there's a surprising amount of unspoken thematic gutpunch to these films that deserve mention before Paramount certainly breaks out the rocket pack for this moneymaking shark they've got on their hands.
