Ever Within The Gauntlet

Aside from the doldrums of work, things have been relatively productive. Was able to get some really spiffy packages sent to both a good pal, and my brothers whom were long overdue for one. Also had a good long session in re-reviewing Evangelion 2.22 last weekend to interesting response. Seems I'm not the only one who sees the narrative ninjas puttering about in this version. And yet that wasn't the only piece of visual refreshment I've been privy to lately. It was a busy May in regards to new DVDs which ended in Kiyomi and I purchasing a number of old favorites for our respective collections.

Went ahead and completed my Verhoeven faves (all two) including RoboCop(The badass Criterion Edition) & Total Recall, as well as Tremors, Wes Craven's New Nightmare, Once, Excalibur, & Carpenter's The Thing. Just happy to see so many of these old treasures out there for dirt cheap. Even in a world, destined for out and out streaming lifestyle changes for all, it's just nice to have keepsakes.

Also am getting quite close to sealing all preparations for a second podcast, with a much more ambitious bent than Infant Island could ever provide. And now, it as a name...

..and a lore...

"3 Media Warriors From 3 Different Paths. One From The Land Of The Superhero, The Second: From the Planet Of Video Games, The Third: From The Void Of Otakuland. Their Mission: To Explore & Review Myths Of Past, Present & Future With Hard Work & Guts! Combo Attack Is Coming!!"

Our premiere recording should be taking place early July, and from then on, the show should take life every two weeks covering one pop culture phenom, comic, or game. It should be a lot of fun, so stay alert!

Also have been working on some musical projects as of late. Most stand-out was a remix i was asked to put together for a pal from L.A. in the form of TLR, who is a unique soul and a kickass electronic musician, who's concept NVR-NDR is just taking off this summer. a mix of post-happy hardcore, gabber, anime mutation, and 16-bit game trope hopping, TLR's remix album should be coming out pretty soon. Until then, check out his music HERE.

Also just Downloaded the new How To Destroy Angels EP, and can't wait to listen to it, so I best be disconnect for now. Until next time, hoping all is well. Here's something cheery...
