Well the job is both a boon, and a bust as far as productivity is concerned. As much as I was able to get my proposals , and contact listings done within my first week, it is also the beginning of con season, which makes waiting for replies all the more sluggish. (and a little worrisome on the part of my boss who isn't as hip on the anime market front)
So yeah, it is essentially like doing the job of three separate co-workers at my old job. But it is still more invigorating than what I had recently been doing.
On other fronts, it's been really great to see so many important faces from the desert over the last few days. From Al, Tamara & their lovely daughter Suri, to the ever great Yam & Tams, it was mere prelude to to the wonders of hanging out with not only my brother, Ruben's metal band, Remnants Of Man, but also hanging out with my next in age brother, Tet, his gf, and daughter Emily! And to throw Cori & husband Cody into the mix, you have a reunionlike gathering the likes I haven't had in well over thirteen years. Seriously. I haven't had this many familiar faces from my past in one place in such a long time.
And since it was a local metal show, things only took on that much more of a surreal tone. Or could it be considered appropriate, as it we are talking about the Brothers Olivarez? (the ultimate black sheep)
