I'm still having problems with my internet connection, so I apologize for not replying or commenting. I'm not sure how long it will take to post this little bit here, because my computer keeps dropping the connection. It's not the airport card itself, but I think it has to do with the airport hub. It's very frustrating. And I think that we're the only Joss fans in the world who have not seen the Dr. Horrible shows; our connection is so slow these days that we can't download it. I guess that means that we wait for the DVD, so at least not all is lost.
Mao is sticking close to home, so a big yay on that. I have no idea why he decided to wander so far last time. Maybe he was chased by something. Maybe he went temporarily insane. Who can tell with cats.
Dar got much worse a few days ago, but she's back on the mend. My poor baby has been in constant pain for days now, and not just your run-of-the-mill pain, either. I'm relieved as hell that she's doing better this evening.
I'm still stumbling along. Today was not one of the better ones, but I soldiered through like the little martyr that I am. I'm very ready for someone to get me some meds that will stop this burning and pain and not turn me into a zombie while it does so. The very good news is that my blood pressure is completely under control at last. Today at the doctor's office it was 112/60. I've never had it that low! I think it has more to do with backing off the prednisone than with the anti-hypertensive meds that I've been on, and I'm looking forward to the day when I can do away with those, too.
My life is boring, and I have nothing much to write about. The alpacas are great; Gertie still hasn't given birth to that jumping bean of a cria that she's carrying, but she's giving all the signs that it won't be long now. The cats both amuse and annoy. The weather can stop with the hot and humid any time now, please.
Oh! Everyone around here is growing corn this year. It's that whole bio-diesel thing. I'm not a big fan of corn fields. I've seen way too many horror films involving corn fields not to think of them as sinister. And we have it growing right across the street. I may have to torch it at some point purely in self defense. Just saying.
OK, let's see if I can actually post this.
farm country,
health,
