yesterday afternoon i started feeling like i had a scratchy throat which i chalked up to allergies and being thirsty. It was a little worse last night as I was studying, but I drank some more water and used it as an excuse to have a bowl of ice cream. woke up in the middle of the night (my room was hot) and realized it kind of hurt to swallow. started thinking maybe i had a little tonsilitis, but again, maybe it was just spring allergies and dryness because it was only on one side. this morning when i got up it hurt a lot more and it hurts to swallow. it's mostly ok when I'm just sitting doing nothing, but the minute i try to swallow, it hurts. I have called student health (here's hoping they actually call me back this time) and explained the pain and i have like 5 hours free in the middle of the day (when i plan on just studying between class and tutoring)  so hopefully they can fit me in today.

It's a good thing we didn't discuss any nasty diseases of the mouth and throat in histology this week with our GI section, otherwise i'd be convinced I had that condition.
