wintry weather!

This morning school is opening at 10 because of the 'ice' all over the roads, which is great. What's even better is the ice was probably gone by 9 on all the major and slightly-major roads, but i still didn't have class! And they're calling for a chance of snow showers overnight tonight, woohoo!
Thursday, Valentine's day, should be sunny again, just in time for me to spend all day inside studying and taking an exam on ceullar pathways and regulation. Yup... nothing I like doing more on Valentines day than describing the map kinase kinase kinase signaling cascade... :-p

In other news, I talked with the professor I'm rotating with and I have a lab to do my thesis work in! For those scientifically inclined who want to know: the lab studies retrovirus budding from infected cells and is looking into the apparent similarities between retrovirus particles and cell-cell messenger particles called exosomes (exosome biogenesis is hijacked by the virus? is one of the many many questions the lab asks) I have no idea what my actual project will be, and apparently I have a lot of leeway in how long I need to take to figure that out (since I know a couple of 2nd year students who were just getting their thesis projects worked out this past fall.. and i'm ahead of the game as far as picking a lab after just two rotations).
