I realize this post will give me a huge backlash, but that's ok.
Since it's unlikely that Hillary will get the nomination, this is my final rant before I support Obama. I think 90% of my friends will resent me for these thoughts, but I am tired of her being labeled as someone who rejects hope for the future because she tries to tell people to take a look at a more substantial track record of getting things done to move the country forward.
I find it pretty worrisome that while on national tv, the state senator of Texas that supports Obama could not list one accomplishment of Obama in the Senate, the biggest stage that Obama has seen for the past four years. Instead, he noted his inspring message and said he could not list an achievement. I don't think the ability to present a speech should be the defining ability that puts someone in office, I don't care what race he or she is. I don't care if the other candidate's husband sometimes goes too far on the campaign trail. I cannot believe Hillary Clinton's campaign has failed her the way it has. With only 4 headquarter offices in Wisconsin as opposed to Obama's 11 and also being outspend 5 to 1 in a state that could have made a 180 degree turn, she had no chance and she still made it a rather close race, at least compared the blowout Potomac Primaries. The more qualified candidate will lose because her campaign failed her and because people and the media love to go with the flow of negatively labeling the better known candidate. While she has brought both sides together numerous times to pass legislation before Obama got to the Senate, she is still labeled by everyone as unable to get anything done because she is too polarizing. As if giving licences to illegal immigrants, a stance so liberal on a hot button issue even for moderates will be so unifying. As if his biggest scoring of points in judgment is being against the war from the start when he was in the Illinois State Senate, which does not concern itself with foreign policy. I wonder why John Edwards at the time also got caught up in this issue if he is by far the greatest champion for the less fortunate in this country. Obama scored points by not being exposed to the national scene and giving, yet again, another great speech. How does that work????? I want to see results before you work for me. obama vs. mccain is a clear choice. obama vs. clinton seems to be a different story. for me it wasn't too hard cause i'm not one to get swept off my feet by charm. but i guess the country has spoken. so be it. WTF.
