12th Night Party

Jan 10, 2010 00:38

So I pretty much just got back from the Elmendorph Inn in Redhook.  It was a lot of fun.  I've been really outgoing and friendly this year and I'm having a lot more fun in general.  I was able to start conversations and I made a bunch of friends my age.  So I'm really excited about it all. =D

My Aunt Sally and Uncle Gary brought me to Redhook for the evening.  They went out to dinner while I stayed at the Inn with everyone else.  My aunt and I made Root Vegetable Stew which was REALLY GOOD.  I liked it a lot.  She also baked the rolls that she hadn't used from Christmas and gave us butter pads that she hadn't used.  All of the food was really good and I probably would have eaten more but I was wearing my stays. =D

I started the evening talking with Pat which was fine but eventually I slipped away.  I started the conversation, and for those of you who know me in person, you know that is HUGE for me.  I never start convos.  I started this though one though because the girl's dress looked EXACTLY like Felicity's blue gown and I had to ask.  (Once again American Girl Dolls save my life.)  She said that she did model it after Felicity's gown.  We talked for a while and she introduced me to her friends from Albany 2nd after I said I was interested in joining.  They were mostly my age so I ended up spending the night with them.  Anna had the Felicity dress, and she introduced me to Jess, Devin, Eric, Sam, Dawn, Chris, and a few others.  All in all I would say that's a very successful night.  Everyone is SUPER nice and I'm really excited to get started on everything.

During the party Anna and I talked about a bunch of things, getting to know each other and before and during dancing I heard insane stories about their past summers during reenactments (mainly from Eric and Sam). LOL  Dancing was a lot of fun, yet interesting in stays.  The stays keep the heat in so it gets really hot and sticky really fast.  I'm very impressed that I didn't pass out. LOL jk, though, jk.

Movies also came up somewhere in there and Lord of the Rings was mentioned and I brought up Last of the Mohicans.  I told her I grew up on that movie and she told me the same.  hahah At least I know my mom isn't the only one, right?  But the main reason I'm bringing this up is she started telling me about her Dad, who does native reenactments looks like Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) from the movie.  YES. That is amazing. =D
