New Year's Eve

Jan 01, 2010 18:55

So, New Year's Eve...it was actually pretty good; better than the last two that I've had.  No one died and no one tried to stick their foot up my butt.  I say that's a major improvement. =D

It snowed in the morning and it was absolutely gorgeous.  It stopped in the afternoon but the weather was still really nice and then snowed again at night when were leaving the pary.  It snowed today too, and I really hope it keeps snowing.  I LOVE the snow.  It makes me want to put on my gowns and walk around in it.  Snow also makes me want a pair of patterns.  I tried to look for a picture to show what they are...but I can't find them.

Anyway I worked for a bit, pretty much all day long, cept I didn't get privates which was nice.  And I actually talked to people; pretty amazing right?  I didn't have my nose stuck in a book all day long!  That's probably because I didn't have Into the Wilderness on me though...  Anyway, I found out an attractive person at CLC is 20 (I thought most of the newbies were younger than me) so that made me happy to make me feel like less of a cougar.  LOL  I would continue to eleborate on that but I wanna keep this post public. =]

Moving on, I also ended the year on a brave front and that's a nice way to end the year, I'm really hoping it'll carry on throughout the year.  I really have to work on talking to people and really reaching out to people instead of crawling into my shell.  It'll be a good practice for later on in life as well as being really good for networking my writing.

For the evening, I went with my mom up to Windham village for a party that her friends were having.  I mingled pretty well, talked to a few different people.  Met someone who reenacts which is nice, I was talking to him about the 12th night party I'll be going to NEXT WEEKEND. YES.  He's a loyalist, but I'm over looking that because I'm thinking of looking into a British group...but let's not tell that to my aunt. hahah

Speaking of reenacting I should have my corset for the 12th Night Party too, which I'm really excited about.  I have to remember to talk to Sally about a scarf or shawl to tuck into my bodice though...I dunno if I wanna show off all of that right away. hahah

I also talked to Hank about English literature and Williamsburg, and he helped me make up my mind on wanting to get married there [hold on Sarah, you still need a boyfriend] and to travel to England at the first chance I get.  I'm so jealous; he's been to Kings Cross and Jane Austen's house in bath.

Hank also introduced me to his younger son, Nick, who's my age. (YES SOMEONE ELSE MY AGE!)  And he was really interesting.  Hank was trying to warn me about him because he's very "stream of conscience" type of person but I loved it, very different than what I'm used to.  I wanted to meet him though because he writes poetry and I'm always up for meeting people (guys especially) that write poetry.  I would love to get to know him better.

We left around 11 and when I got home I curled up with Into the Wilderness and fell asleep to Last of the Mohicans.

I was BARELY able to stay up past midnight, lol.
