It was Chinen Yuri's last year and his boyfriends first year in high school. He felt happy knowing Ryutaro was also going to the school he was going to and was happy that they could always eat lunch together instead of just video calls.
"Ne, Ryuu, are you busy later? Wanna watch a movie together?", Chinen asked taking in another piece of gyoza. They were both on the rooftop eating, the usual eversince Ryutaro enrolled in this school.
"...Um..actually, I can't, I have so much homework that I barely even have time to walk my dog...i'm so sorry Chii, maybe next time?", he smiled. Chinen pouted at first but accepted it anyways.
The bell rang and class resumed, Chinen couldn't help but remember Ryutaro's face when he asked if they could go out awhile ago, because he looked scared and sad at the same time. It worried Chinen but what Chinen doesn't know is that Ryutaro is fighting hard to stay with Chinen.

The next day was the day Chinen wished that he would just die...hearing those 4 words come out of Ryutaro's mouth the minute they met up at school broke his heart...his heart burned...his heart was shredded like some paperwork which was noted as "wrong" and "useless"...his heart felt useless, he felt useless...
"W-Why...why so sudden?", Chinen asked
"I have my reasons Chinen...", Chinen...he didn't call me Chii?
"Yesterday we were all happy and everything, and now just now, you want to break up with me?", Chinen couldn't believe what he was hearing, he didn't want to go to school now..
Ryutaro stayed silent though, not even making eye contact with Chinen..."I..I hate you!", Chinen shouted before running back home, but it pained Ryutaro's heart seeing Chinen like this. If only Chinen knew....if only he knew...

In this last year of High School Chinen graduated as valedictorian and was currently dating Okamoto Keito, his next door neighbor. He didn't really expect Ryutaro to come to his graduation and he didn't...but he wanted to forget him already so he ignored the small thought of it.
Despite all his problems with Ryutaro, Chinen finally found some time to hang out with Keito.
"The nights really cold ne?", Chinen smiled, "but I like it..."
"Deshou?..Um, Chii, I need to ask you something"
"Sure anything"
"You still have feelings for Ryutaro?", Chinen stopped his tracks and faced Keito
"Why would you ask something like that? Of course i'm over him!", Chinen laughed
"Oh okay, because awhile ago, during your speech? You looked around as if you were looking for someone--"
"Silly! I was looking for you!"
"But...Chii, I was in the first row.."
"Right! I was just making sure you were there--okay where do you want to go next?", Chinen asked hoping Keito would just skip the topic but unfortunately he didn't quite want to end this topic
"Chinen, listen, if you still have feelings for him then why would you ask me out?", Chinen was left silent before saying "I don't like him okay? I'm over him, waaaay over him..."
"Fine, if you're that over him then sleep with me--"
"WHAT!?", Chinen's eyes widened
"You're not willing, obviously you wouldn't want to sleep with me if you still love Ryutaro right?", Keito smiled. After an hour of talking while sitting on a sidewalk bench things were settled, Keito broke up with Chinen, it was slightly painful to the heart because he graduated that same day, but the said boy was pretty much okay with it...

I silently got up from the bed not wanting to wake Ryu-chan up, I went to the bathroom, filled the bath tub up with hot water and slowly dipped myself in. The pain in my back is still there but it's tolerable, Ryutaro's a soft boy...he was always caring...When he found me crying under a tree when I was still small he didn't hesitate to hover an umbrella over me. I was lost but my parents eventually found me. Another thing is...

Chinen slowly entered the schools baseball field hoping no one would see him. Ryutaro was a 2nd year student now and currently the captain of the baseball team, something he always wanted to do was lead a baseball team and he got it...
"Okay guys so practice ends today, i'll see you all tomorrow at 6am sharp, don't be late, we have a game coming up soon so I want to make sure everyone is fit for it", Ryutaro bid his fellow team mates goodbye and headed to the benches first to get his bag only to spot a figure behind a plant...
"W-Who's there?", Ryutaro asked, but as he saw the small keychain that had an 'R' hanging from the loop, dangling, he immediately knew who it was.
"Chinen?", the older slowly revealed himself, he was dressed in simple fit jeans, a white shirt and was carrying the backpack Ryutaro gave him for his 15th birthday.
"What are you doing here?", He asked Chinen coldly
"I just wanted to see you...one last time that is...", Chinen laughed faintly
"Oh..that's right, you're going to college soon, around November 12 right?...", Ryutaro remembered
"Yup! And I just wanted to say bye, it was nearly a dream come true that i've met you...", Nearly a dream come true
"Nearly--?"
"Well, i'll see you when I see you okay?", Chinen smiled, extending his hand out for a simple hand shake but instead of a handshake, Ryutaro hugged Chinen. It nearly made the older cry for it has been a year, or maybe even more than a year since he's felt this very hug...
"I'm going to miss you actually...But I know you'll probably forget about me once you make new friends", Ryutaro withdrew from the hug and smiled at the older boy. A real smile. The smile that hasn't been shown to him for months...
"I don't think i'll forget you, I hope we'll stay friends forever though", Chinen smiled before walking away, leaving no time for Ryutaro to utter anything else.

I will always remember that one moment when he hugged me after nearly two years of not seeing each other. I still loved him then, but apparently he was over me. At least that is what I thought, until I met him again when I was already in my 2nd year of college taking up arts and he was in 3rd year high school.

Chinen walked across his classroom, it was 12 nn and everyone was out for lunch. He looked out the window and noticed a tall boy being spoken to by the guard at the gate of the university he was in. As he looked closer he immediately distinguished who the boy was, it was Ryutaro.
Chinen made his way down the stairs and ran toward the gate. He knew the security guards at the University of Tokyo were very strict about High school students entering the campus due to many incidents which have occured in the past.
"Excuse me, ummm, I know this boy", Chinen told the guard
"Are you sure Chinen-kun?", the guard asked and the said boy nodded with a smile
"I'll talk to him for a few minutes", Chinen smiled again
"Thanks, Chinen-kun...", Ryutaro smiled, "No problem". Chinen took him to the picnic benches at the back of the campus' main building and sat down comfortably at the table near a large tree that was used as shade. There was literally no one around so they guessed it was safe to talk.
"So..how's life?", Chinen asked
"It's okay, 3rd year high school is pretty hard but apparently i'll live", Chinen giggled and Ryutaro blushed
"Um, Chinen, I want to give you this...", he handed over a small box which seemed as if it contained something very special so Chinen took it with care
"Can I...open it?", Chinen asked, looking at the younger boy for a moment before opening the box. His eyes widened it surprise, it was a necklace which had a heart with the letters "R+Y" carefully engraved at the back.
"R-Ryutaro? W-What does this mean?", Chinen asked, although he felt like he was being confessed to again, he was still unsure about everything
"Chinen...Um...this may sound weird...especially coming from me...but...can we...give our past relationship another try?", as much as Chinen wanted to say "no" he nodded but he asked Ryutaro about why he suddenly broke up with him before his high school graduation and Ryutaro sang like a canary. He told Chinen that his mother forced him to break up with Chinen because his mothers repuation was being destroyed, just last year Ryutaro's mother died of a sudden heart attack and was only left with his dad who strangely approved the younger boys relationship with the older. Although Ryutaro wanted to keep his mothers promise of not dating boys, he wanted to-- no, he needed to break it. He couldn't stand being away from Chinen...not once.

I hear him waking up, I always find the way he yawns very cute. Oh and to think thats all we had to go through, it wasn't, there was still the time I assumed he was dating some girl behind my back. I was already out of college and he was in his last year of college. That time was by far the most painful because he left the apartment we both lived in for nearly a month and when he finally came back...

Chinen opened his eyes as he heard his apartment door open, he slowly got up from the bed, jerking a little because of the sudden thunder that roared through the whole apartment, he took slow steps towards his bedroom door. He turned the doorknob slowly, opening the door in the process, he headed to the living room and nearly had a heart attack when he saw that it was just Ryutaro.
"Ryutaro! What are you doing here!?", Chinen shouted, obviously mad that Ryutaro just entered the apartment like this
"Well, sorry...I just wanted to ask if...I can move back in"
"It was your choice to leave so its your choice if you wanna come back, i'm going back to bed...", Chinen said, sounding uncaring and mad.
"Chinen!", Ryutaro couldn't hold it anymore
"What!?", Chinen shouted, turning to face Ryutaro in the process
"Are you still mad!? I already told you that I did not cheat on you! Why can't you just believe me?", Ryutaro asked, annoyed that Chinen won't and will not believe everything he is saying.
"You broke my heart once and told me the truth the time you wanted to get back together again, why should I give you another chance?"
"I did not cheat on you Chinen, can't you just believe me? She's my classmate for peats sake! I wouldn't even date her, ever!"
"Then why did you go out with her?!", Ryutaro fell silent
"Okay, you know what, i'll just leave this time if this conversation will continue", Chinen grabbed his jacket placed his shoes on and quickly
left the apartment, he didn't bring any umbrella because he did not care about the hard rain...
He was walking briskly hoping Ryutaro wouldn't catch up but thats the time he felt someone grab his hand. Stopping him from going any further.
"Ryutaro, why are you even doing this!?", Chinen sobbed as he clenched his fist in pure pain, he still did not want to face the boy.
"Chinen, I don't want to hurt you so why can't you just believe me already!", Ryutaro shouted, judging from his voice he, too, was crying, but it wasn't noticeable due to the rain.
"I...I just can't, i'm scared of getting hurt--"
"Chinen! The truth is, we did go out...but not for some dating purpose!"
"Then what did you do then!? Why can't you tell me--"
"Chinen Yuri will you marry me?", Chinen fell silent, he didn't expect this, AT ALL.
"I..I asked her for help in choosing a ring for you...I wanted it to be a secret...now I couldn't tell you that now can I?"
"R-Ryu...", Chinen turned to the boy, staring into his eyes for a few seconds, before cupping the younger boys face and placing his lips on Ryutaro's. He knew Ryutaro was crying because of the hot tears he could feel under the palm of his hands which rested on the younger boys cheeks. They both broke away from the kiss and thats when Chinen finally answered...."Yes" was what he uttered that very moment...

As I look at the ring that shimmers beautifully on my finger. I couldn't help but smile each time. Ryutaro was always there for me, I made it hard...His mom made it hard...many people made it hard for us to be together. But finally, after all the obsticles we went through, we're finally tied together. The necklace is still with me, I wear it almost everyday. Oh and I have always liked the name Morimoto, and now i'm more than happy that I get to carry that name around everywhere I go...What? What's my name now you ask? It's Morimoto Yuri.
