I was on the grounds of my alma mater, that is, the University of Virginia, and I had a bike with a basket but no helmet. I was with a guy who also had a bike. And I said something about how I would feel almost as hindered on a bike as in a car on UVA grounds? Something about how I hate riding on brick and I'd sooner walk? (NB: on UVA grounds, transportation ranks thusly: walking > taking the bus or trolley > driving > biking, with biking last because bike parts would get stolen for funsies during my time there, or so I heard. Like people would steal seats.) Anyway, the guy disagreed, then he did some spectacular BMX tricks on his bike 'round Clark Hall. Then somehow his bike morphed into a skateboard and he did several more tricks and people around us were initially irritated then impressed. He came back to me and put his arm around me, then everyone looked at me super impressed like I was lucky to be the dude's arm candy. Then we walked towards first year dorms, hand in hand, and I leaned on him, and he asked where we go from here.
