3. Your first best friend: That I remember? Besides the daughters of family friends (some of them are my best friends NOW but)? Lauren Strand.
4. Your childhood fears: Drowning, dogs, cockroaches, worms, throwing up.
5. What you were like in high school: A version of me with my flaws exaggerated, I suppose.
6. Your favourite and least favourite subjects at school:
Until 4th grade: science favorite, no least favorites. 5th grade: English favorite, history least favorite. 6th grade: Math favorite, history least favorite.
7th grade: English favorite, no least favorites. 8th grade: French favorite, Civics least favorite.
9th grade: French favorite, Tech and band least favorite. 10th grade: Pre-Calc favorite, no least favorites. 11th grade: anthropology favorite, English/History least favorite. 12th grade: Senior Sem (AP Lit and AP Government) and French favorite, Tech lab least favorite.
First year first semester: I kind of wasn't all that fussed about any of my classes. Second year first semester: Comparative politics 101 favorite, American economic history least favorite. Second year second semester: Nutrition favorite, Political theory least favorite. Third year first semester: French phonetics favorite, wasn't fussed about any others. Third year second semester: Wasn't terribly fussed about any of them. Fourth year first semester: Spanish 101 favorite, French grammar and style least favorite. Fourth year second semester: Portuguese 101 favorite, Tools and Techniques of Translation least favorite.
First year grad school, fall: PUBP 502, dealt with governmental policy, favorite. Theory of public policy least favorite. spring: Stats favorite, Program Evaulation least favorite.
Second year Fall: Reproductive Health policy favorite, Macroecon least favorite. Spring: I liked all three classes well enough. I took environmental policy, transportation policy, and military operations other than war.
7. Your first boyfriend or girlfriend: Nick. I used the word "love" wayyyyyyyyyyyy too soon, and all I meant to say was, "I'm really really REALLY attracted to you!" 8th grade.
8. Your oldest hobby: Reading, I guess.
9. Your sexuality: I like hot guys.
10. What you look for in a partner: Fidelity, transparency, steady communication.
11. Your kids, or your feelings about having kids: If I had my way, any partner would get himself a vasectomy ASAP. That's not a realistic expectation at all. Oh well.
12. Your pets, past and present: I've had several goldfish won at school fun fairs. And I had a hermit crab once.
13. Foods you love and foods you hate: Love guacamole made from scratch, hummus made from scratch, pumpkin and coconut milk soup, paneer jal-frezi. Hate bananas, eggplant, bitter gourd, yogurt, buttermilk.
14. What your life was like ten years ago: I'd just gotten my learner's permit.
15. How much alcohol you drink: I guess once a week, I buy a drink at a restaurant or bar.
16. Your worst illness: Er, I guess I don't do so well in heat.
17. What you do at work: I'm a substitute teacher and moonlight as a tutor. Work is slow to nil in the summer months.
18. A question or comment people should never make to you: I don't know, some phrases are triggering in different ways, can't think of anything off the top of my head though.
19. The style of clothing you feel most comfortable in: Besides pajama pants, a T-shirt, and socks? Jeans, chucks, long sleeved tee layered under a graphic tee.
20. Whether you’re an extrovert or an introvert: I'm honestly not sure.
21. Who you have a crush on: Logan Lerman.
22. A friendship you lost: I've lost more than a few over the years, not usually a falling out, just a slow fade because of different geographic locations, schedules, etc. Some I miss. Some I don't.
23. Three achievements you’re proud of: My education; I played a damn good Olivia (Twelfth Night) and Puck (Midsummer Night's Dream); it's a secret.
24. Your political views: Registered Democrat. I believe in reproductive justice, evidence-based maternity care, food justice, and environmental justice.
25. Your religious beliefs: I was born Hindu. It's not terribly dogmatic, so I've got no impetus to convert or go atheist. So I'm Hindu.
26. Your perfect night out: A hot date for which I can still dress casually.
27. Whether you like to plan ahead or be spontaneous: I'm a planner, but I can go with the flow when appropriate.
28. What you look for in a friend: Honesty.
