(no subject)
Well, my apartment is starting to take shape and I had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I hung out on bald eagle lake and went sailing and on a drunken lighted boat parade packed on an old pontune full of 11 people. We had to keep moving so we didn't sink! It was a ton of fun and I would really like to live on a lake someday. It is so darn nice! I guess I'd have to learn to sail, but that can be arranged.
My unclue Henry passed away yesterday. It's sad because he was the one uncle I never got to meet in all my 21 years. Well, not much that I can do now I suppose. He was a dentist and I always wanted to talk dentistry with him, but the chance never arose and now I don't feel super upset that he's gone and that's kind of making me feel upset in itself. Odd really. I suppose it's one of those things I'll always regret. Sad. I am happy taht he reconciled with my godmother (his daughter) because she married a Haitian and he didn't approve of a "mixed marriage". I'm glad they made up and he finally understood. I'm glad he got to meet his grandson before he succummed to cancer. I guess there's some things that you fight about that are just silly in the big scheme of things. Sigh. His funeral is on Saturday and I don't think I can go because it's in Chicago and I work.
