Huckabee is getting high numbers because he's an unknown, so people can project what they want onto him.

I'm much more scared of the 20% for Guiliani.

Partly it's that Huckabee is an unknown, partly it's that he is probably getting more and more of the evangelical vote -- and while that's note quite the force it once was, it's still considerable.

And yeah: Giuliani scares the hell out of me. He may be closer to me on the issues than the other Republicans, but he is playing the culture-of-fear card really hard. I think he may actually be the most *dangerous* of an unsavory bunch...

Yeah, Giuliani's a terrifying power-monger, and quite possibly the scariest of the potential candidates to imagine as President. But it's still nice to know that a lot of the Republican voters are willling to overlook his social liberalism, which I was holding on to as a minor positive when he was in the lead nationally.

I'm scared of the size of the evangelical vote, as reflected in Huckabee's 25%.
