My belly dancing recital was awesome on Friday. My family said I did a great job and even danced better than some of the other dancers. I messed up a few of the steps in the first song, I was so nervous! But I kept smiling but I got over it fairly quickly knowing the audience couldn’t see my feet because of my long skirt ;P The second song I did much better, my nerves weren’t so distracting that time. I knocked the veil out of my hand but I recovered it like I did that shit on purpose, haha. It was a lot of fun and I now remember how it felt to be on stage again when I was younger. And having blurry vision without my glasses helped too as I couldn’t really see anyone’s expression when I looked at them, lol. My sister is hilarious, there’s a part in the second song where we hold our veils open and shimmy, I didn’t even have to wonder who went “Ah-Oooo!” I looked right at her and smiled big, lol! Love that bitch so much. She did an excellent job on my hair too. Once my mum posts the pictures I’ll share them here. All I have is my finished flower hairpiece I made that I posted below. I seriously love my work you guys. I have such a creative mind, I make such pretty things. Rob took some videos of my performances too so I’ll try to share those too. We are not professionals so don’t expect anything special, okay? Haha… one of the ladies told me it looked like my costume is something you’d see on the internet, I was flattered =)
After I performed my two dances, I sat and watched the rest of the show with my family. Hula dancing is pretty neat, I might sign up for those classes… when the show was over, we went out to eat Chinese/Japanese to celebrate. I was still in my costume as I didn’t bring a change of clothes but I didn’t mind rocking the belly dancing look, haha. Friday was a good day, I’m very proud of myself *beams*
Saturday, I cleaned the house and got drunk and watched the fights at home. I was honestly hoping Rob would go out with his cousin so I could have a night to my own but that didn’t pan out… so I had to hang out with Rob, haha.
Yesterday was more yard work… man… a big yard is a lot of work, still so many leaves to clean up from the garden and we mended the stone wall. Which is good so Winnie can’t walk over it anymore. I didn’t clean up all of the leaves from the garden, so many leaves and so much garden but I kicked ass yesterday. Marcos, Tasha and Damas came over in the late afternoon to do laundry so I got to play with Damas in our yard and Rob bbq’d. Four year olds are so much fun. Good weekend =)
