This verse is lovely and heartbreaking. Poor Sam being able to see people dying when he can't stop it. Poor Dean not being able to protect him from all this. And yet they go on living. Thank you for sharing.

It's partly the way you tie in Black Beauty, which makes me cry *buckets*, and the parallel of the ending -- so much pain, which can never be completely healed.
