Not for Samson in the Temple - Dean/Sam, adult, Coda

Apr 05, 2008 13:58

Schmoop, sex, cucumbers, and parking lots. And, oh, yeah -- the end of the world.

None of which will make sense if you haven't read eighth-horizon's The Last Outpost of All That Is, which if you haven't, is a damn tragedy.

SPN, Dean/Sam, Adult. 3,444 words.

He's never no, and rarely maybe.

Perfect.

You were right, I could handle the original, and this is a lovely addition.

[PS -- Can you tell what else I'm reading right now? I'm in a mine wired with explosives with a wounded Larabee, Buck, Vin, Lawson and Hawkes, trying to find a way out! Yikes! :)]

I love all the beautiful details here. It feels thick, lush, and real. Mostly, I love the way it sets up the photo, because that's the perfect coda to the coda.

Thank you.

Thank you, lovely. It felt stark in my head but I'm very glad it didn't come out like that.

Oh! This was just fabulous! I love the details - about food, and solar panels, and antibacterial ointments with a shelf life. Haircuts as "stealth forplay" = ♥

I love the boys' ease with one another in this strange new world. I love that you address the boredom. I love that because Dean wants bacon and hot showers he figures out how to make it work. And the picture at the end was just perfect!

It didn't go one way, if it ever had. Dean had probably always known it, but been afraid to admit it from the start. There was no place to go if he'd been wrong.

Oh, Dean. Oh boys. Utterly lovely coda, such bitter-sweet perfection in their lives.

Oh, and.
Wanted to say, a comment from someone sent me over to your del.icio.us account and i had *no* idea you had so many of my things listed over there. Quite boggling.
In the good way.

I read Barb's fic at Escapade and loved it so much I trust it on everyone I could find there who might be persuaded to read it. I never never get tired of reading about just the two of them together like this. I don't miss other characters AT ALL. Thanks, hon.
