Feminist Solidarity Fest
Ever since I moved house I have decided to become more active and I joined a number of groups. One such group was a newly created feminist group called The Fourth Wave. We are a very new group, still finding our way, but full of women with ideas, energy and ambition.

The thing we are working on at the moment is a Feminist Solidarity Fest. I'm cautiously optimistic that it is going to be awesome! (I still haven't found out if I can get the time of work to go, but I'm crossing my fingers.) We have managed to secure a nice line up of speakers, poets, musicians and workshops.

The Fest slash picnic is to be help in Hackney Downs on Sunday the 6th of September. All you Londoners should come! It'll be a great opportunity to meet fellow feminists and hear some good speakers.
In other news, the fest - and our group - is completely self funded and we have to gather up money to pay the council for use of the park, get public liability insurance for the event, get mikes and equipment, and find gazebos or small marquees in case of rain. So if you have a bit of money to spare, please consider donating to a good cause! If you have any of the stuff we need (mainly amplifying equipment or a gazebo/marquee) that you would like to lend us for the event please let me know!
