Two things
1. Does anyone live in Oxford, have a big house and like visitors? Tama_abi and 4 friends are looking for a place to stay for the 7-9 of November. Tama_abi is the lovely fandomer who put me up for a couple of nights when I went to Paris a few years ago.
2. Today was a difficult day. My gran had a bit of a fit and was having a hard time breathing so after calling her useless no-good GP, I ended up calling 999. After they got over the initial shock and annoyance that I called them but refused to let them take her to hospital, the ambulance team ended up being wonderful. They put her on oxygen, wired her up to monitor her heart, and spent hours on the phone bullying the GP and the district nurses to pull their fingers out their arses and get something sorted. We already have her DNR sorted, but she will be put on palliative care and coordinate my care, and her medication changed to make her more comfortable rather than treat her. As I speak, the night-time palliative nurse is sitting with her as she gurgles and weaves trying to breathe. All we can do is hope it is not a long drawn out painful affair.
