Picspam of my week

Sep 25, 2014 15:53

Just a warning that I have over-worked my mac and it's freaking out on me and sticking which is something it never used to do! I'm afraid it will die soon, and I'm suffering from such lack of energy that I can't even bring myself to back everything up before the inevitable happens.

Last week was a busy one. This one was a stay at home feeling blue, dealing with my gran's shit and getting nothing done kind of week.

So last week I had that job interview, where they never got back to me. Which I guess means they don't want me, but aren't polite enough to let me know.

As for the rest of the week, I'll spam you with my instagram photos of it!

Tuesday before the interview getting myself a fortifying orange juice:

After the interview, sitting on a bench in the Docklands getting my bearings back:

Later that evening I went to the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre at the LSE for a talk about healthy cities.

Wednesday I went to 100% Design as part of the London Design Festival:

Thursday I went to designjunction as part of the London Design Festival:

Friday I went to work, but I took Saturday and Sunday off to go to Open House.

Saturday I went to the City, but because of the queues, I only managed to see two buildings.

The Lloyds building, which has always been one of my favourites:

And the Leadenhall building (or Cheesegrater as it's known, because it was next to the Lloyd's and I was curious to go up it.) Going up the glass elevators to the 40th floor was seriously scary, because it turns out my fear of heights is very very real.

Also bonus flying books in the Leadenhall Market!

Sunday I went to the City again to visit some old stuff this time. The queues were also very big.

First up was the hidden Masonic Temple in the old Great Eastern Hotel - now the Asaz Hotel by Liverpool Street station:

Next came the ruins of a roman bathhouse under a building in Billingsgate:

Then I walked all along the Northbank till Temple:

There I visited Middle Temple, which is a big complex with gardens and buildings of various ages. Amongst them a great Elisabethan Hall and Temple Church, a templars church:

Oof. That's about it.
