Little update
I haven't been sleeping well lately which has turned my into a bit of a grumpy unsociable zombie. I just glanced through my f-list and tried to catch up on comments - still haven't. I thing I should get to bed now.
But what have I been up to? Nothing much. I did go for the typical after work drinks last friday which was cool. Had an awesome fannish meetup on saturday at the wonderful writcraft's. I got to see lokifan, son_of_darkness and inglevine again and meet the lovely marianna_merlo - and bond over the both of us being greek.
Monday and Tuesday I worked on my hd_remix till my hand cramped and I'm still nowhere near finishing. I also started reading Loaded March (the Merlin fanfic of doom) and it's eating my life!
Wednesday I braved the strikes and went to the Surface Design Show. The SDS is a trade show for building professionals. It mainly showcases materials that are used to cover and clad surfaces but it also has some interesting talks and workshops. I wrote a huge post about it on my wordpress blog if you are interested.
Thursday I once more went downtown to visit the RIBA for a day of CPD sessions. Some of them had me nodding off, but some were rather interesting. Of course I find presentations of Canadian hardwood or rain-screen paneling fascinating, so there is no accounting for taste. I did meet a young architect who was the epitome of extroverted aggressive networker. He talked to as many people as he could and gathered as many business cards as he could. I know that that is what I should do too, and the fact I'm too shy to do so is one of the main reasons I don't yet have a job. But just watching him exhausted me!
