Death Note

OMG!! I just started reading "Death Note" and it's so addictive!!

I'm on the 3rd volume now, but it's soooo exciting. So many things happen in just one volume, it's amazing how the artist can keep every chapter so plotty and juicy. Raito is just gorgeous in a cute way XD But he's a highschool boy, I feel like a perv. :P

I can tell the plot is carefully carfted and each detail woven into an awe-striking way. But, there's one minor thing that made me wonder whether it was a plot hole or a really simple thing that I couldn't figure out :P

But something in this manga disturbs me. Raito kills ppl (criminals) by just writing the name of the person on this Death Note notebook. (Ok, it's a bit more complex than that actually, but anyhow...) Raito starts out of boredom, but I think it's the reality in Japan to some extent that many young ppl think the way Raito does. Everything is routine and they're bored in a peace-numbed world. (The North Koeran threat might've stirred that numbness these days though) They can have anything nowadays. It's so easy to buy whatever you desire. They live in materialistic luxury while their souls starve. A life so easy seems so pointless to live. And that's scary... Like, not finding a purpose to live your life and think of it as something so worthless like in a computer game? Guess this is why so many juvenile delinquency's been shooting up. *sigh*

But I still believe in mankind. *nods*

I've read a couple of L/Raito doujinshi and have quite liked them but couldn't appreciate the stories as much as I would've liked since I was clueless about the original plot :P But from now on, the candy will taste sweeter *hee*

I wonder how this is ever going to end though, if there's such a thing as an end in this... *bwee* So exciting anyhow :3

P.S. YESSS, merry_smutmas is coming along nicely *throws fist in air*
