I finally got SLAM DUNK 10 DAYS AFTER DVD! *major squeeeee*
I had to go through extrenuous means to get this DVD and THANK GOD I fianlly got it! Only it's at my mom's place. 6 hrs. drive from here T_T
But it was miraculous, the way I got it! This is the whole story.
A few weeks back, I had posted about this DVD that I finally decided to buy it. So I surfed through Amazon Japan feeling all smug and glorious that I was to get this treat for myself but VOILA! To my major disappointment, it was SOLD OUT!! D: I mailed Amazon immediately to ask if they were ever going to sell anymore again but their answer was ambiguous (they didn't confirm nor deny it).
I frantically went on looking on other sites and found just ONE other online bookstore that sold the DVD. BUT they didn’t deliver it overseas. Only Amazon does it (although it takes months for delivery, seriously!). So I tried to get in touch with my aunt to ask her for a favour; I'd buy the DVD and pay it online and have it deliver it to my aunt's so then my aunt could forwarded it to me *hehe*
But my aunt's mail addy wasn't working and all mails were returned undelivered T_T *GUH* I was furiously cursing all gods for my worst of lucks. But then, last week I had to go to the City and visited my mum. She told me some of her friends were coming over from Japan and they can bring the DVD for me. Picture me with big, wide, teary eyes (anime style *lol*) to hear such great news!
I immediately ordered it on Friday night and crossed my fingers it'd arrive on time because mum's friends were to take the flight the coming Wed. and the delivery would take 2 to 3 business days. I was praying to all gods that the DVD would make it by Wed. morning at the latest. But to my dismay, I got the delivery cofirmation mail on Tue.!!!!! *wtf* I almost kicked my computer and lost all hope, or what it remained of it T_T
And yesterday I phoned my mum to ask for a recipe and first thing she said, "I've got your DVD with me!"
I DIED right then and there! *squeeeeee* It arrived JUST on time they said. So there IS a god(s) after all!!! XD Now I have to plan another visit to my mum's, like now!!

The reason why I'm so psyched about this is because there's an epilogue (10 days after the Sannou game) Inoue drew on school blackboards. And it's a story of ALL the characters. Not just Shohoku members, but also Kainan, Shouyou, Sannou, etc. Or so I heard :P
He named this DVD, Slam Dunk Final Event. That means, if we ever hoped for a SD sequel, there will be no such thing. :'( It's sad. But I know I'll treasure the whole series and this DVD for the rest of my days <33
So, thank you, Inoue Takehiko sensei, for creating this master piece of a manga and the unforgettable characters that made us all laugh and cry and made it possible to live the drama *with* them. *bow of honour*
I stumbled rather accidentally on a site where it's scanlating Inoue's latest manga, "REAL". IT MADE ME CRY. It's incredible and life-changing. It makes you see the world with totally different view. Don't think of this as a *mere* manga. It's beyond all words and emontions one can convey. Seriously.
I'd like to share the link to all my f-list because I want as many ppl to read it and most of all, FEEL it. And spread the word once you become a believer. Here's hoping. Go DL it, it's free, but also support the author by buying his works <33
