[Wednesday morning is a particularly warm day in Mayfield. With the sun in the sky, it seems like the perfect time to go for a swim down at the rec center. Luckily for you, although the pool has been closed off the past two days, it seems as though this morning, someone has left the door unlocked ( Read more... )

[The Major's journey to find mistletoe or wolfsbane has taken him throughout the entire town. And when he finds the gate to the pool open, he decides he might as well check and see what might lay beyond it.

And he just stops as he sees the body. He'll get into the pool and begin to pull the body to the shallow end and towards dry ground.

And once that is finished, proceed to unceremoniously prod the body with his foot.]

[The man coughs]

Yeah, I know you're there.

How lovely.

Now that we acknowledge one another's existence, I have a question for you.

[And he'll start to take the revolver out of his jacket.]

Do dead men feel pain?

Yes.

[He chuckles weakly.]

But none you'll be able to inflict on me.

Ah. Unfortunate then.

Was it worth it?

All of you without fail seem to think I'm actually going to answer your questions.

Oh I expect you won't.

Which works out better for me, at least, anyway.

Why's that?

To put it simply?

This place is ideal for what I want. A battlefield where we can kill, die, and kill again with no repercussions. I have nowhere else to be, aside perhaps damnation, and while I don't intend to run from it? I will play as long as I can with the time I have.

I don't intend to let them leave, if I can help the town on that.

[He laughs]

You're even sadder than the rest of them. They'll never give you the power you want.

But you are the perfect drone for what I need most right now.

[If the Major's offended? He certainly doesn't show it. He merely shrugs, twirling the gun in his hand.]

I hardly need power. I merely need to be here.

And what might that be?

She thinks she can keep me alive, but I know how to make her change her mind. It's nothing a gunshot will accomplish.

But I'd rather stay alive like this than do something they'll thank me for as my last act.

Here's the treason that'll earn me my death sentence.

That little bitch Lucy Smith is really a man named Doctor Zemekis. He created this town. Used to be a sharp man, but he lost it somewhere along the way. He's the one behind everything here. The Milkman's his creature, too, although don't ask me how. He wants everything to be perfect, so he keeps himself nice and droned as little Lucy, but he can drone and undrone himself all he wants.

As for the reason all of you are here, well...

[He smiles a knowing smile, and suddenly, his pulse stops and the consciousness fades from his eye.

Evan Olney is dead.]

[The Major just smiles a bit as the man dies. Smirking, he'll drag the man's body over to the gate and fling it over the gate, allowing the body to simply hang on it.

Before he takes the pocket knife out. He didn't get to finish his last message. Perhaps he'll finish this one.

The Major will shred the phrase "Ich bin Defätist" into Olney's back before heading back home.]
