While still getting used to Mayfield at having left for three years, the party piques Luke's interest enough for him to come investigating. Maybe he'd even get a chance to talk to Lucy or Billy Smith and ask them questions.

He wasn't sure if he'd stick around long, the bad feeling in his gut not going away anytime soon. But it'd be nice to have some answers for why he was brought back from home after three years.

...Parties had a lot of food as well.

Roshia might not be actively hovering over Luke's shoulder, but she's certainly keeping an eye on him as she mingles with the other guests.

While Luke may be busy with "investigating", he might be scouting out the party table for any good food. Can't investigate on an empty stomach, after all. He keeps glancing back at Roshia too, mostly out of curiosity.

Roshia's just quietly watching everything, waiting to see what's going to happen.

A few minutes later, Luke returns to Roshia's side for a moment, glancing around for Billy or Lucy Smith impatiently.

He looks up at Roshia. A sandwich stuffed in his mouth.

He was hungry okay, don't judge.

"Child is testing food for poison?" A wry tone, but internally she's concerned. Did Luke know nothing?

Only when it comes to his stomach. Right as he goes to take the next bite, he stops and looks at the sandwich.

...Opps.

"Everyone else eating looks just fine," he protests weakly. Maaaaybe he should just wait until he gets home to eat.

"Will see what happens." Roshia herself isn't planning on touching any of the food.

Urp. Well, Luke can't say he enjoys being poisoned by strange food or water. Not bothering to finish the sandwich (and hoping he wouldn't spend the next few days throwing up everything), the boy glances around at the crowd of people instead.

"See anything unusual yet?"

"Нет." Nothing unusual other than the number of people who had turned out for the gathering.

"That's a relief, I guess."

Still, this party did seem pretty uneventful.

"Seems awful strange the Smiths would be inviting us to a party."

"Seemed 'awful strange' for town to allow us to visit Westport." Of course it's a trap. The question is, what kind of trap?

I don't know, maybe if we stick around too long they'll end up locking us in or something.

"Is possibility."

Billy notices Luke, but says nothing, instead continuing to run around generally being a terror. He keeps glancing over, though.

Oh Billy, Luke sure does remember you. But instead of running up and shouting angrily at Billy like he would normally like to do, Luke just calmly walks up to him instead, a cheerful look on his face.

"Hi Billy."
