It had been such a nice day outside that Mia decided to cook dinner outside. She felt rather ridiculous in her 1950s dress and apron standing outside over a gril frying fish, but there weren't a lot of options on the clothes front.
She was contemplating the vegetables she knew to be in the icebox when a white cat came up to her, mewing. As far as she knew, no one had a pet cat. But then, she'd been out for a few days and hadn't listened to the messages.
Still playing dumb, Mogget brushed against Mia's legs like any normal cat, hoping to appear tame and friendly. Then he looked rather pointedly from the fish to the woman.
Mogget's collar had a metal tag on it instead of a bell, which gave his name and address. He stood up with his forepaws resting on Mia's knee, the collar clearly visible.

"Hello," she greeted.

"First, I have to find out who you belong to. Don't want them to be mad at me for feeding you."
