She didn't know the other people, but was advised by "America" that they also wanted to help in maintaining the protection on their street. Alice hardly considered herself a hero, and the last thing she wanted was to be seen as some sort of noble person, but the incident with the children had been unsettling. She hated not having her weapons or her own clothes, but the last thing she wanted was to seem like another weak, confused citizen in Mayfield. As far as she was concerned, the more informed and armed she was, the better. Now it was simply waiting for these two new people.
And she was happy that this "America" person hadn't asked too much about sanity. That would not have gone well.
