Toki had just come in from some brief last minute Christmas shopping. Upon seeing Afghan sitting in the living room, he tried, rather conspicuously to hide the bagss behind his back and shuffle towards his and Elena's bedroom. He had, in the past ten years, gotten used to not being a krillionare, not only hadn't managed to bankrupt them this year, but also was far more used to not having servants around to carry all his bags for him.

That's when he also noticed that they had guests. "Hey, Afghan!" he said, his voice a nervous pitch higher. "What's do we have goings on heres?" His accent was less pronounced than it had been ten years previously.

Alpha was getting on a bit now, but still an alert and loyal pet. He stood up to greet his master.

"Welcome back, Master."

"Hey there, Murderbeast," Toki smiles, before heading to his room and stashing the presents in the closet. He hopes that Alpha hasn't smelt the bone he got from the butcher's, since he does like surprises. He gives Alpha a quick scratch behind the ears, grabs himself a beer, and sits down on the a couch.

Alpha settles down at Toki's feet, watching the goings-on warily. It is his job to protect his master, after all.

Afghan smiled over at her adopted father and Alpha, and was instantly curious about the bags he was hiding behind his back. She didn't inquire about them, though; she'd gotten to know all about Christmas in the past ten years and knew that was rude. Christmas was even bigger on gift-giving than Eid ul-Fitr, and she knew she'd have been devastated if someone had found one of her presents for that day early.

"Welcome home, Mr. Wartooth." She still wasn't comfortable calling either him or Elena "Dad" or "Mom". "I invited some friends over to make cookies... is that okay?"

"Of course it is! I loves cookies!" he said. "Oh, can I helps?"

It would be advised that he doesn't, because though he no longer sets microwavable dinners (for one, there aren't any here, and for another, he doesn't have servants and a six-star chef to cook for him. Only a wife) on fire on the stove, he's still not one would call a "good" cook. Or even one who makes food even slightly-edible.

Afghan's smile may have taken on a slightly panicked look right about then. "Ah... no, no, you and Ms. Fisher get to have some of them so you can't help. You'd be making your own presents!"

Toki looks somewhat downhearted about this for about half a second, and then he brightens again. "Oh! I knows! How abouts I makes you a batch just for you, and then you can has some too!"

Oh man. Well... maybe she could take them to school and, er... give them to her drone classmates. That wouldn't be very nice, though, no... "Ah... well, I guess..."

"Yea!" Toki exclaims, before heading into the kitchen. His cookies are going to be guitar shaped and totally brutal. Oh, and maybe he'll use beer or creme de cacao! And twice - no, three times! the amount of sugar that's required for the recipe.

They're going to be the best cookies ever!
