Saint Seiya's Recurrent Topics

(Compiled by Tohui and Lil' sis, I haven't watched all the sagas)

1. Athena is always in great peril, so her Knights have to rescue/save her and surpass o dangerous tasks and evil enemies.

2. Shun is going to be saved at last minute -always- by his brother (Ikki? O.o)

Haha, well they're all true.
(Except I don't really see where #6 comes from?)

However I would add other themes:

- Ikki will be a badass.

- Someone will die sacrificing themselves. Except he's only mostly dead. \XD/

- Manly tears will be shed.

- Man love.

And #1 recurring topic in Saint Seiya:

- Shiryuu will rip off his cloth and fight shirtless. And it will always be glorious.

Well, Seiya doesn't had anything with that masked woman (and was his sister or something, right? O.o)

And I forgot the shirtless!Shiryuu, how could I? XD

Marin's not his sister. But Shaina was in love with him.

Anyway, what I meant is that I actually can't really think of any case of a Saint's potential love interest where they were evil, and as for in love with someone that was... well, there was Freya, and the triangle with Hyouga and what's his name, but that was it I think. :D

Well, I think that it's more that romantic interests in Saint Seiya are more... hmm... ideal. You know, like courtly love in a way? It's not actually a love that will be physically realized, it's not about sex, instead love is more... about having something to fight for and protect, you know? Or someone that inspires them and lends unconditional moral support (like Shunrei does for Shiryuu).

Funny thing about a loved one being a representation of something to fight for, it's that works as much for actual romantic interests (like the Death Queen chick was SUPPOSED to be for Ikki, although SHE LOOKED JUST LIKE SHUN) as it does for platonic love, like in the sense that all of the Saints love Athena and fight for her, but it's that ideal sort of love and it's not really at all a romantic love. It's interesting like that. :D
