5am... I'm up. Without the aid of an alarm, yeah, I'm shocked too. Well, with a mere 4 hours of sleep in my system, I shower and finish packing for what I knew was going to be a mind blowing weekend. Ang and I got to Detroit about 45 minutes before our flight, we didn't have too much time to kill, which was great, as we were anxious enough! We busted out our laptops on the flight, squeezed in a couple of our favorite OK Go videos, and annoyed the hell out of everyone on the plane since we were laughing as loudly as we could. Again, didn't care. We were on cloud 9!
We arrive in B'more around 12, and we got off the plane and I was ready to call Rachel to tell her we had landed, but Angie's phone rang, so I only assumed it was her. Haha well, it was Adam, Rachel's hubby calling to tell us that Rachel's phone was MIA. Silly, silly girl. We spotted her near the baggage claim right away, it was so great to finally meet her! She's real! Haha she's not just a name on the screen! It was awesome. Becky's plane wasn't due to arrive for another hour or so, so we went and got some snacks and sat down and chit-chatted until Becky's plane had landed.
We gathered Becky, gabbed OK Go, sang to "Rent" in Rachel's car, and headed to her parents' place just outside Baltimore. Let me just say, her parents house was SOOOO homey. I loved it. We were greeted by a very loud and eager Ginny and Jeter, and a very calm and friendly Adam :) We got to meet the pups and give them treats, it was fun. We sat around and relaxed for a bit and watched some Never Mind the Buzzcocks on the laptop :) The best episode, I laughed. A lot. Hopefully Ang liked it too! Her parents got home from their luncheon, and were sooo friendly and wonderful. I see where Rachel gets her friendliness and helpfulness! All us girls got dolled up and changed into our concert gear, all very appropriate for the each of us :) We put the finishing touches on one another and got on the road.
We all crammed into Rachel's car and headed for the 930 Club. We got near DC and I needed to pee, bad. So we stopped at a McDonalds. Adam decided he was hungry, so we went through the drive thru for some chicken selects. Luckily, Rachel's friend Amy was holding a spot for us in line! Well, the people at this particular McDonalds REALLY irritated the hell out of Rachel, because she ordered the selects, however, the person at the drive-thru didn't understand that that's all she wanted, PLUS dipping sauce for them. Not a snack wrap. I wish I could accurately describe how frustrated she was, but I can't. All I can tell you is that it was hilarious... and that Adam ended up with NO dipping sauce ;)
**I'm doing this in installments!
