you know how sometimes people ask you, if your life had a soundtrack, what would it be like? well, today on my walk into work, i actually thought about that to myself, and i wanted to actually compile a list of 15-20 songs that i think best fit my life, at least right now/up to this point. so as i really ponder this, i will edit this entry and compile the PERFECT soundtrack to my life, and give examples of WHY i chose the songs i did.
and maybe, just maybe, if you like me enough, and you've never heard some of the songs on this list, maybe you'll check them out for yourself :)
1. Don't Panic//Coldplay-Okay, even though I HATE Coldplay, when I heard this song in the movie Garden State, I was in love. Check it out. It's very fitting for someone who seems lost, but comes to realize certain things and people who are in their lives for a reason
2. 100 Years From Now//Huey Lewis and the News-Sure, kind of a hokey band from the 80s, but I grew up listening to it, and I don't care what you say. The chorus says it all though, "Even though we might be havin' a few doubts, let's take the time to try to work things out. The little things we fuss and fight about, ain't gonna matter, a hundred years from now."
3. Let It Rain//OK Go-A little bit of a downer song, but I love it anyway. I'm still trying to figure out why I feel like it reaches out to me the way it does... "kissed her and took all she got..." I think that explains a little
4. Swing Life Away//Rise Against-Listen to this one. This one just reminds me of a time I was on Cloud 9 and completely swept away by someone, and I miss that feeling.
5. Bruised//The Bens-Another one you should just download. The opening line says it all, "Oh no, love just leaves you bruised..." Another song that reminds me of a younger, happier time, but now reminds me of what it feels like to love and have lost.
6. Better Off Now That You're Gone//Will Hoge-This song has a pretty powerful message, and you can already tell by the name of the song, and it sort of helped me get over someone I never thought I'd be able to get over!
7. Day Tripper//The Beatles-Haha, I'm not sure why I pick this song first out of any other Beatles song, but it seemed to describe me best... even though I'm not exactly the type of girl they describe in the song, but I like the beginning of the song, "Got a good reason, for taking the easy way out," :)
That's all I've got for now. I've really got to rack my brain for more.... :) so until then...
