No?
Oh yeah, I've been to busy going out and having a great life to post here *rubs it in giggling*
It's late at night so you can just have the edited highlights.
I don't even remember what I did last weekend except hockey. Let's just assume I did stuff and had a good time.
Oh! I came down with a cold which was annoying but eh, I survived. Monday night housemate #2 came home and we talked about housemate #1 moving out. We've decided to keep the place, take out a new lease and she then went and listed the room looking for a flatmate :) Happy now.
Tuesday I went to Pasta Night at Bethan's and had a lovely time seeing a bunch of people.
WEDNESDAY! What a great day. I went to an events expo at Darling Harbour all day. It was for work and everything. There was loads to see and met a number of suppliers which was useful. I also attended 2 talks, one on finding your creativity and the other on branding from the inside out. They both really inspired me, which was such a relief as I'd been to a talk previously which was very disappointing.
The best thing about being inspired is that I found a great concept for Local Government Week which is a rather dull set of activities and I have now come up with a kooky and interesting way to engage the community in what we're doing.
By the end of the day I was knackered because I'd been on my feet since 10am and left just before 5pm! I headed over to C's place where I dumped the two stupidly heavy bags of promo materials I had collected. We headed out to the NSW Art Gallery and saw the Harold Cezneaux photographic exhibition which was excellent. C and I share very similar interests in art and appreciate it in similar ways - namely vocally. The exhibition I'm sure interested many people due to it's 'old sydney' images, where as C and I really enjoyed identifying his style, how he framed the images and how he captured so many different experiences and feelings. So we really enjoyed seeing that exhibition together.
But by then we were starving so we headed back to Newtown and had Sushi... I love sushi. And the sushi train in Newtown is great!
Off we went back to C's place and sat down with a glass of red or two and watched some Black Books and Mighty Boosh and we giggled a lot (I'm sure the many glasses of red helped). It's also really nice visiting C as I get along well with his housemate D who recently bought a motorbike, Yamaha, but I couldn't tell you much more than that. Anyway, he's bought a bunch of mods for it and is having fun suping it up - even though he doesn't have his licence yet! So I got to see his motorbike as he only got it last weekend.
I crashed the night there (I did mention the red wine in copious amounts didn't I?) and rolled in to work a little under the weather (who'd have thought red wine could make you feel a little off? LOL) and promptly started working on the inspiring ideas i had had the day previous.
I didn't end up going to hockey because I was still sick and had been having issues breathing well and figured running around in the cold probably wouldn't help that. I made a really yummy set of chicken and caesar wraps for dinner and fed housemate #1 too. We had a cool night hanging out.
I had a brief chat to M and will probably see him this weekend when he comes back from the funeral which is on tomorrow. I then sat up for a while and edited further footage and images for Acoustica video (labour of love that one).
Friday, well it was Friday (hey, that's today!), I cruised through and got a bunch of things done and worked more on the inspired ideas. Everyone left by about 4pm and I was gong to follow suit and then i decided to call and gossip with
astemudfoot instead. And when I got off the phone from her there was a message from one of the advertising sales guys from a Sydney paper. So I called him back and had a chat about stuff, he offered me some very good discounts... at that point I decided that he liked me so I flirted some more. I don't care if he does fancy me, I've never even met the guy, but I will maintain that he fancies me for as long as I think amusing.
And then I headed out to Newtown to the Bank Hotel for yummy Thai for MLs farewell before she disappears to Russia for a bit. I had a great Chat with Tall D who I knew but had never really got to know. OMG he has some amazing travel plans! Anyway, I was really great t get to know him outside the SCA context and I pretty much made a new friend - YAY!
So after dinner and a few drinks I headed into the city to catch up with J, A and E, three guys I went to Uni with. We had a great night talking shit and playing pool (we changed teams each game and were playing doubles). I was on almost every winning team, the only game I lost was the one where A sunk the white off the lack, so we didn't lose due to poor performance, just bad luck. SO it was declared that I was indeed the best pool player out of all of us like i had boasted (thank goodness that one came off - could have been a little embarrassing). The boys had all had much more to drink than me so called it a night not long after 1am.
So I caught the bus home and got home a little after 2am. It's just after 3am now, so I should probably go to sleep. I have hockey tomorrow and am playing goalie again and then I have a birthday party to go to. Sunday is the Aroma Festival in the Rocks which I will go to with
deense if she's feeling up to it and M if he's not stupidly hungover (strong possibility there). And if I can manage it I will swing past and tease C because he has to work and misses out totally on the Aroma Festival - and of course he loves coffee and is BUMMED that he can't go - hahaha!
Things are good.
Oh and only 2 weeks until I run away to a secret rendezvous! *squee bounce bounce bounce*
Night folks! I'm sure there'll be more stories from the weekend soon enough.
