Oh the shoes!
That's right folks you're all gonna have to get your butts a moving! Friday night is late night shopping here in Vic so Dez and I hit the 'Mal' (See my 360 page re Bendigo linguistics) for a spot of shopping. We went to the Athlete's foot first and had our feet analysed on the foot print thingy. I recommend everyone try it once, it's so intriguing.
So it turn out that I don't spread my balance evenly and I don't step properly with my left foot - not surprising considering I had a knee reconstruction a few years ago and I don't think I really rehabilitated it properly. Dez's feet weren't crazy but we ended up both getting a brand new pair of runners as we are planning to start jogging together very soon.
Dez has reapplied for the Federal police and has already got to the interview and fitness test part. They want him to come in in February but he's going to try and postpone as he's only just quit smoking and hasn't improved his fitness yet, hence the jogging. Anyway, I asked the chick about a rather cheap looking pedometer and she just threw it in for free (as well as our socks)! So I was very impressed at the service and didn't feel so bad parting with the cash.
We headed over to Sportsco and both bought a pair of shorts (when I was jogging in my leggings they kept slipping down my arse!). Saturday we got up bright and early and went for a half hour walk. Oh dear god the shoes are comfy! No sore legs or body at all!
Didn't go this morning but we will go walking probably every other day, we'll have to see how it all fits in with Dez's roster as he's starting 8 days of 12 hour night shift. He should finish work at about 7am and we can go for a walk after that I guess.
Steps taken yesterday:10184
Pedometer packaging says steps are 60cm (doesn't calculate length *grr* but it was free!)
