So, I talk to a lot of people about dating. I receive lots of advice from all kinds of people. I share the stories, mainly because they're funny, but also in the hopes that someone can learn something from my blundering through life. And I really do blunder through.
One of the things I have thought extensively about is an intelligent point made by the CPD some time ago about personalisty types and relationships/ dating. Now, if you all hadn't picked that I am an extrovert, well all of this will go over your head. Right now, I can't find the links to the Myer Briggs opersonality tests, but they are quite interesting. I recently saw The Social Network, and anyone who has seen it will know why it got my thought processes going about personlities, the lead character comes across as a complete jerk, but with a bit of light shed on him, it's just his personality.
I tend to be an ENFJ occassionally and ENTJ - the idea is to do the test a few times to get a bit of a mean result and to see how different moods change your personality etc. Anyway, CPD pointed out that my personality type needs an I type to balance out my E (think yin-yang style). The funny thing about I's they're a little shy about being out there, goodness knows how I've met so many over the years. Yes, the ex is an I (I don't remember the rest but it all made so much more sense when I read the profile!) and B#1 is an INFJ I think. I know lots of you out there thought I was cutting him too much slack, but after a couple of interesting conversations with CPD about various personality types (including the Mark Zuckerberg extreme INTJ or thereabouts - I am guessing based on a theatricalised version of him), there are some out there who are completely oblivious to the whole social construct of dating and relationships etc. I'm a generous person, I give the benefit of the doubt a lot. Edit: and the rest of the thought was they those sorts of people don't always realise they are in a relationship, or that their behaviour might not be appropriate for the situation they're in.
So, this is a short post (in my mini lunch break) and I have to run away, but much to think about!
