My Adorable Widdle Wattie Face

Goodness, I am spammy lately. And I have more giftart to share with you all, so this probably isn't the last post you'll get today.

So yes, this is my Wallace rat, snuggling in my hand. And yeah, I was totally holding the webcam in my mouth to get this footage.

Awww, what a sweetie... I've had two pet rats in my life and think they're adorable. Of course, I ended up allergic to rats, so I can't get another one, but I still think they're great.

I've only had my two ratties since July, but I do love them to little bits. :)

Your rats are so cute! They make me want to go out and get some of my own, which I can't do yet since my apartment won't allow them. This summer shall be different though. Do you know of any good sorts of rats if I'm looking for a cuddler? I've only ever taken care of liberated white feeder rats.

I'm pretty new to keeping rats, myself, though I've had mice longer. I got my two babes, Wallace and Sebastian, at a small pet store that seemed to truly care for all of their pets, including the rats. Sebastian is very stand-offish, though I keep working with him, but Wallace is a lot more friendly. So I think it might be more the luck of the draw than anything that you get a good cuddler, at least from a store. It's better to get your ratties from a decent breeder, and I still want to do that. If they're socialized young, they'll be easier around people, too. (I suspect that Wallace and Sebastian probably weren't handled much as pups.) And the younger you get your pet rattie, the better it will bond with you.
