I really liked this, I hadn't realzied that Dean hasn't *slept* since being back, as opposed to *collapsed* And I like that Samn's noticed it.

(and, admittedly, anyone who can slip donuts into a story deserves extra kudos!)

Yay donuts! Sam has seemed pretty oblivious, but I saw the way he was looking at Dean at the beginning of the time-travel episode. I think he was worried, but decided to go off and do his demon thing because it's something he can control, and Dean's problems are not.

I noticed the Dean-sleeping-under-jacket, and that look too, and ascribed the same thoughts to it :) *oh, boys*

Ah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed and thought that. :) I thought perhaps I was just reading my own wishes into it. Which is certainly still possible.

He wanted to shove the stupid bastard into a wall and make him reveal everything. Make him stay with him, stop wandering off like this, leaving Sam behind, alone and confused in the dust like an abandoned toy.

He didn’t.

Oh, Sam.

Oh, boys.

Nice look at each of the brothers: at Dean, who really is far more comfortable talking about Sam's issues than his own, and at Sam, who can't quite reach Dean at this point, though he wants to.

*hugs them*

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. My heart is all hurty for both of them right now.

I really really love your icon!

and poor boys, Dean is so exhausted and tired and Sam so worried
but there is such distance!

Yeah. The distance kills me. Sam doesn't know what to do right now, but at another time, I think he did.

Though I can't ever fully support the use of donut (as opposed to the actual word, doughnut), this was lovely. ;)

The guys are far more apt to talk about each other rather than themselves. It's not confined to Dean, there. Poor guys. Poor, angsty, pretty boys.

Heh, my Word spellchecker didn't pick up "donut," but Firefox is. I was thinking of it like "grey" and "gray," and I fully support American spelling even though I think "grey" looks cooler. :)

It's true that Sam has the very same problem with talking about his own issues. I mean, they'd JUST BEEN THROUGH THIS. But it's always this hypocrisy with these two--worried about the other but hiding their own pain. ::loves them so much it hurts::

Oh, this is lovely! I wish we would get something like this from Sam on the show. Seems Castiel is more aware of what is going on with Sam then his own brother is. Or cares to be :-/

Anyways, sorry, I loved this!

I saw the way Sam looked at Dean at the beginning of 4.03, and to me it looked like he knew that something was going on with Dean, but just didn't know how to deal with it. Sam has been changed over the months without his brother, mostly in bad ways. It's like he doesn't know how to reach Dean anymore. It makes me so sad.
