The tire nazi was definitely out of line and had no right to yell at you. Clearly he gets away with treating people like shit because they want his low prices. People like that are so damn irritating.

I'm so glad the other tire discounters helped make up for that experience. It kind of reminds me of my car break-in experience last month. I was sooooo rattled after discovering my Envoy had been broken into and no matter how hard I tried, I could not get my brain to function at its best. Unfamiliar town, 2 hour drive from home, smashed in window... all I wanted was to be home, thank-you very much, and not have to deal with finding someone willing to do a same day repair and then actually physically finding them. Thank God deangirl1 was able to lend me her brain so I could follow her to the glass repair place. And thank God the guy running the place was so good. Though his personality was far from sweet, in the sense that he was very matter-of-fact and business-like, before I even knew it he was dialing the police for me, telling them my story so that all I had to do was answer a few quick questions. He seemed to feel bad that a visitor to his city had this bad experience and, despite his blue-collar, gruffer ways, that will always endear him to me and definitely helped me face that 2 hour drive home. In fact, by the time hubby met me at the door when I arrived home, I was more pissed off than shaky and in much better shape than I had been!

Kudos to people who truly understand what customer service means!

Oh, goodness, that would be so horrible! I'm glad you had someone to lean on, and found a guy who could help you right away. That matter-of-fact attitude can be very reassuring in times of crisis--my dad has proved that to me. He's not emotionless by any means, but when something bad is going down, he can go grim and just take of business. I really appreciate that. I'm glad everything turned out okay for you!
