The good times are killing me...

Modest Mouse was infuckingcredible. Since i had never seen them live, or been to this particular venue, i really had no expectations. Things are usually better that way anyhow. i feel like you get more of an authentic experience... but they are seriously so amazing. They fulfill every musical craving i could ever have simultaneously. In them, i hear pieces of other music that i love. Sometimes they remind me of the pixies, if only for a few seconds, then the beta band, then Bowie, then the talking heads... it's something i cant describe. They're familiar yet so... it's like they've always existed (musically)... what i hear when they play, is something that is always able to be heard. That makes no sense...
Anyway, the show was great, Wallace and i had fun. We got pretty retarded. Beer is good. I love being 21. The band that opened for them, Wolf Parade, was really cool too. i'll have to look into them further... i wish i could remember the Modest Mouse set in order, but all i know is this:
They opened with 3rd planet, then:
the view
bukowski
float on
black cadallacs
blame it on the tetons
ocean breathes salty
cowboy dan
the good times are killing me
satin in a coffin
paper thin walls
wild pack of family dogs
the world at large
devils workday
doing the cockroach

Thats all i can remember, but i know they played more... heh

Man, also, on Saturday night there was this killer party at Aidens friend Zachs house... i really should have written about it sooner, while i was still giddy about how fun it was and how hard i laughed and how much we danced. i really think Will did it more justice than i could at this point so just check his journal. Plus, i'm lazy, but let me say this: When Willis and i got into Aidens car, and Aiden said there was a large gay man in a GWAR t-shirt and leather chaps at the party, i just sort of smiled and it didnt really sink in. Sure enough... a six foot something hairdresser in tight black leather chaps and a fucking GWAR tee walks into the room where they were setting up one set of decks...

Yeah. It was that kind of party.
