Hot as balls - as Gareth would say

So, my life in Japan's been plodding on. In the past three weeks the temperature and the humidity has shot through the roof! It's so debilitating. I have little energy and my appetite's all over the place. I don't remember previous years having this effect on me. The thing is, rainy season isn't even over yet! In a few weeks, that's when the real humidity will kick in and I'll be going back on my winter lament that summer is my favourite season. The continually sweaty skin and breathlessness when doing anything other than lying under the air conditioning is just meh.

I love my school and its students but today during lessons we all just mehhed together. I was this close to joining them in laying my head on the desk, even for the momentary coolness the wooden surface would bring. Which reminds me, yesterday I bought a pillow with a removable gel pack that can be placed in the fridge: cooooool.

Annnyway, at least I'm going to be in Europe for August (will it be cooler?) My plans are: arrive July 23rd, be lonely for a while (no family around - need to get in touch with friends), turn 24 years old (ugh), prepare for a wedding (not mine), do a hen night ("Chicago" and drinkies in London - oooh), be the bridesmaid at said wedding, stay in 5 star hotel with a hangover, fly to France to see my parents for a week. Then on the 14th I'm going to meet Gareth in Berlin, go to Dresden, Prague, Venice, Florence and Rome. Quite excited about the Europe travel, even though it's pretty short. After that I catch plane back to England and relax a while till plane back to Osaka (which happens to be same flight as Gareth). I get back here on the 28th. Bit worried about Shige: five weeks apart is long for us, and he's quite the jealous type. I'll have to be careful what I get up to ;)

Blimey. It's taken me ages to write all this out. I've become a fan of fake nails at the weekends (trying to grow my own bitten nails to a pretty length for the wedding) and they're ostentatious and long and ridiculous - can barely do anything.Ha.

I still miss my cat very much. Life is very strange without a furry feline friend around.
