its very weird when you leave seattle and enter the outside world of suburbia. i arrived in virginia just yesterday and on the car ride from the airport my dad ALREADY made negative comments that i had to keep my mouth shut to:
he said he didn't understand how vegetarians/vegans are against the killing of animals but not against "the killing of unborn children"
wow. a while ago i realized that there's no point in arguing with him because they won't even attempt to understand or hear my opinion. it makes me sad to see how ignorant the majority of our country is. they also tried to get me to eat a chicken sandwich at lunch but i just made myself a salad instead. seems like they'd get used to me being a vegetarian since i have been for the past 5 years? apparently not.
oh well, at least i'm getting to hang out with my cute little sister:
mt rainier from the airplane
virginia farmland from the airplane
my dad and baby sister, noelle
the cutting down of trees and formation of suburbia, horray!
jordan's response:
nana and noelle
silly derek
