Long time, things have changed
It's been a while since I've posted here. I've commented here and there on some posts, and I've seen all the public posts through RSS (plus a few of the friends-locked posts here and there, when I actually managed to check them). But I haven't actually posted here.
Quite a bit has changed in the time since I last posted. I quit graduate school, Otter defended his thesis, Otter found out his job was ending sooner than he thought, he got himself a new job in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley, and we're flying out there real soon to look for an apartment.
Since we're preparing for a big move, what do I do, but actually start doing that website design stuff I intended to be working on for over a year now. Granted, it started with both of us needing to move our official sites from their previous locations, as those locations will be available for a limited time, spurring us to get our own domains finally; we already had a hosting account.
Working on a little site for myself prompted me to actually get something started for our mom-and-pop business here on the intertoobz. We don't have much yet, as we're about to do a pretty big move; we don't need to be adding new complications to the business, however central to the intended business plan they may be, right at this moment. Luckily, the business is just the two of us, funded by just the two of us, and currently unnecessary to putting food on the table, so we can decide to put it largely on hold for a bit. It's got a new website, a LinkedIn profile, and a Facebook page now, though.
