(no subject)
so this is from an email i wrote to someone (but he prob wont read the livejournal anyway, hehe, if you are, just so you know, i actually wrote the email and then i was like, hey this is like the perfect entry, not the other way around) omg ppl here were going crazy before the game. and i thought the nhl playoffs were bad. yah, the party wasnt that amusing. first of all i didnt like the guy who had it. dunno why though. just one of those ppl i guess, and also i was like so tired. during the day this person responisble for the site came and he wanted markus and me to draw some maps and we did. which took like 2 hrs. then right after he was like, oh whoops, i wanted it that way. so we whited it out and changed it and then he changed his mind again. grrrrr.... that was like 4 hrs. after that we didnt have a lot of time left cuz yesterday everyone left early cuz teh game was at 6. so we tried out the new instrument. that basically consisted of me carrying this huge meter stick. like 5m long, and accordingly heavy everywhere and holding it so he could mesure it and see if it was right. so we walked like half across teh site doing that every 50m. aw it took forever. and i had to hold the thing like perfectly straight but it kept moving a little cuz it was windy. well lets so just say i got a good workout. and the other problem was that every 200m or so there is a "fixed point", like a point where they know the coordinates of, and when you put the stick there, you always had to sorta climb up and get through those plants that are like poison ivy. i m serious, those points were the only spots where they grew. and then the last point was like a really long way. like 100m. so when i fianlly got there, the stick needed to be 5m long and it was in the middle of a field so it was really windy. and then it took forever for markus to get the measurement cuz he was standing on the other side of a street, and cars kept driving by. but i still had a good time, except for the heat. cuz it was 30degrees and you had to wear long pants and safety shoes (oh my shoes finally came. just a little late, i had to use my fathers for like 2 weeks) and the vest, so that kinda sucked. but w/e. afterwards i went on my first trip for work, haha. i got buns for lunch. and then the day was over.
so then i drove to my grandmonster's, took a shower. and then my mom called and my grandmother kept interrupting. geez so i hid upstairs. afterwards my father and i went to the party. like it was crazy. ppl here are far too excited about soccer. anyway, i ll post some pics eventually of it. well if i every get them. well at least germany won. omg you should have seen the faces of the ppl when costa rica scored. they were like "noooooooo" hehe. but i guess it made the game more interesting. here everyone is really upset that the captain, ballack, coulnt play. that was on the news for the entire week, i m not kidding. and everyone was talking about it. oh and btw, if you are watching, and you see a game thats in gelsenkirchen, look for the toshiba sign on the fencey thing. cuz thats where my father and sat in the spring. well unless they change the signs around. oh and gelsenkirchen is right where my grandmother lives and dortmund (another stadium) is a city i drive through everyday to work. and theres a huge construction site on the highway and i m always stuck there for like half an hour.
