Today I didn't manage to get away from work until about 17:15. The client, who is in France, fell asleep: yay! Although there were lots of clouds there was still some sun angling in over the mountains to the west making for a nice ride. As I rode by the dump I startled the immature eagle that's been hanging out there recently. Strange to call something with a two meter wingspan "immature".

The last fifteen minutes of the return journey were somewhat less pleasant. As the sun dipped behind the mountains the clouds took that as their cue to unleash some hail on me. Now hail isn't too bad. It can sting a bit if it hits exposed skin, but at least it doesn't make you wet the way rain does. I guess that's why the storm gods quickly changed tactics and switched to rain. After a few minutes of that some minor deity got the bright idea to mix rain and hail.

Ah well, at least it was all downhill (in the good sense) at that point.

My bicycle doesn't have any fenders so in wet weather like this I get a spray of dirt and water up the back of my sweatpants and jacket. As a result it looks as if I'm suffering from incontinence. Guess I'll have to remember to change into something else when I go to the grocery store later tonight otherwise all the staff will be directing me to the Depends aisle.
