My 3rd to last Friday!!!
So in just two more Fridays, I will be done with this place for a whole year!!! I can't believe it's finally come to that time. It seemed to have taken so long and yet, it feels like just yesterday that I still had 6 weeks to go before I finished instead of just 2.
I'll be sad to miss out on Hurley's, and more than likely I'll be bored out of my mind after the first week off, but for right now, the prospect of not having to drag my personal sea-monkey-growing-fish-bowl around everyday is very, very attractive.
The stress level here has been increasing everyday as there is still no replacement in sight for my position. Every one keeps telling me that it's not my problem, that's it's the office's, but clearly these people don't know me very well. It's not about them, it's about me and how I feel about leaving my team in the lurch, not to mention that it's always a little more reassuring the start a job with some training as opposed to being dumped (much like I was) into the deep end in the middle of busy season and expected to swim at a competitive level within days. To me, having a chance to train the person that is going to take over my job for a year is a win-win: the person is more confident and more likely more competent and that translates to more help and less crap in order to support my team. It's a matter of professional & personal ethics.
