Last week was better than the one before, more fencing, more lessons, everything progressing with the shoulder. I bought my ticket to Richmond so I'm officially going. We'll see what happens!
Also, Gillian informed me that she is going to join the NYSC, which is the gym I belong to. This is huge because she is already my running/biking partner, and now we can lift together!! I think this will really help. Since I've been focusing so much on my shoulder, I've let all my core and leg stuff go. Man there is just so much to do, always!
I bought Molly's brothers book as she recommended. I'm thinking constantly about the posture stuff because my physical therapist was ragging me about this. I'm sort of mystified that I could be so active and still have such bad posture. If I ever have a kid I'm going to SCREAM at it to STAND UP STRAIGHT. Because you really need to develop that awareness from an early age.
Yesteday was really cold, but sunny, so I went to the track. I skipped most of the way there to warm up which was funny because people were staring at me. Then I did 10x200 with 100m rest in between each. I find 200s a very challenging distance. I'm much better at doing 100s, but need to work on this distance-- I think its good for fencing. This took about 17 minutes. Then I did another 20 mins of agility drills:
--the jumping over cones thing from the book (how many should you do??)
--the jumping in a box shape thing from the book (ditto)
--the 4-corner cone running drill
--the x-lane running drill
--the "madison" (m shape) running drill
--the T running drill
The awesome thing was I used Dan's lab timer that he gave me which can keep three times at once, so i could always time the cumulative time, the specific drill, and the rest interval. :)
